The United Nations General Assembly Second Committee (aka Economic and Financial Committee or ECOFIN) is one of the six main standing committees of the United Nations General Assembly. The Second Committee is responsible for examining problems in the area of global finances and economics.
The ECOFIN convened in Guyana on 1 October 2012. This was its 66th session and it aimed to promote the interests of Least Developed Countries and Landlocked developing countries of the world. The macro economic policies of nations were also reviewed at this session.
