"Early in the Morning" is an international hit song by the UK-based band, Vanity Fare, issued in late 1969. It was the group's debut single from their first studio album.
The song reached number 8 on the UK Singles Chart. In the US it peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 10 on Cash Box and number 4 on the Easy Listening chart and was awarded a gold disc for sales over one million. In Canada it reached number 10 on RPM magazine's RPM100 chart and number 4 on the RPM Adult chart.
Cliff Richard also released the song as a single in late 1969 in Japan, Australia and some European countries. It reached number 1 in Japan in December 1969 and was later listed in Billboard as 13th on the list of Japan's "Foreign Hits of 1970".
