ESP LTD M-1000 is a guitar model made in Korea and distributed by ESP imitating the signature version of Kirk Hammet kh-2 Vintage, including same hardware and construction. The Guitar features a 25.5" Scale, Neck-Thru and Set-Thru constructions (Originally Neck-Thru), EMG 81 pickups, ESP Tuners, Original Floyd Rose and Floyd Rose 1000 bridge in post 2009 models, and a Floyd Rose Original bridge in prior models. It has an Alder Body with a Flame Maple Top and an Extra Thin U Contour Maple Neck with a Rosewood Fingerboard, 24 XJ Frets and a 42mm Locking Nut. Its stock controls are a three way pickup selector switch, a Master Volume pot and a Master Tone pot. The only stock finish that is available currently is See-Thru Black (STBLK) and it has Abalone shell arrow inlays and binding on its neck and head-stock. All of its hardware is black nickel.
This guitar is perfect for metalheads tones. From classic sound of Heavy to handle much more focused tone to the extreme Metal. A resonant and well-balanced tone is created, with a well-defined sparkle in the top end and a focused upper mid range. Some people chose to change the neck pickup to an EMG 85 or 60 to have a less harsh sound.

The neck is an extra thin U shape (think somewhere between a C and D shape) with 24 XJ or extra jumbo frets and proved supremely easy to play with a profile that was comfortable and fast thanks to the 25.5 in (648 mm) scale and large fret size - perfect for modern, technically demanding styles! Shark tooth style inlays enhance the technical look of the instrument and the M-1000 logo inlaid at the 12th fret adds an element of class to the aesthetics. Hardware is all high spec with Grover Tuners, locking nut, Original Floyd Rose bridge and a pair of EMG 81 pickups in bridge and neck positions. A three-way switch is accompanied by volume and tone knobs with all hardware finished in black nickel, contrasting very nicely with the See-Thru Black finish on the body and matching headstock.
