ERA Technical Specifications for Interoperability


The Technical Specification for Interoperability (TSI) are specifications drafted by the European Railway Agency and adopted in a Decision by the European Commission, to ensure the interoperability of the trans-European rail system. The interoperability issues apply to the lines within the Trans-European Rail network. The European Railway Agency regularly publishes a summary of the status of the TSIs.

The Persons with reduced mobility - technical specifications for interoperability (PRM-TSI) relates to accessibility of the European Union's rail system for persons with disabilities and persons with reduced mobility. It was published on 18 November 2014 under reference 1300/2014/EU. The PRM-TSI applies only to heavy rail systems. Light rail systems are covered by different legislation. In the United Kingdom this is the Rail Vehicle Accessibility (Non-Interoperable Rail System) Regulations 2010 (RVAR 2010).
