Dusk and Summer is the fourth studio album by American rock band Dashboard Confessional.

It was originally produced by Daniel Lanois (U2, Bob Dylan), but was polished and finished up with Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Pearl Jam, Dashboard's "Vindicated") as producer.

"So Long, So Long" in particular is a more piano-based song than those that have featured on previous Dashboard Confessional albums or EPs. A previous version of the song was available for download in the summer of 2005 on the band's website. A few of the songs have been compared to Carrabba's previous band, Further Seems Forever.

On May 5, 2006, Dusk and Summer was announced for release, and the track listing was revealed. "Don't Wait" was available to download on May 18, and released to radio on May 23. A music video for the song was released on June 6.Dusk and Summer was released on June 27 through Vagrant Records. In early July, the band went on a tour of Canada with Say Anything and Ben Lee. This was followed up with a tour of the U.S. in July and August. "Rooftops and Invitations" was released to radio on August 29. From mid October to early December, the band went on a U.S. tour alongside Brand New.Dusk and Summer was reissued on May 22, 2007. This edition included a new version of "Stolen", Vindicated" and live versions of "Ghost of a Good Thing" and "The Best Deceptions".

Dusk and Summer debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 134,000 copies in its first week. By August 2006, the album had sold over 300,000 copies.

All songs written by Chris Carrabba.

The German edition of the album, featuring the version of "Stolen" with Juli, was released only in 2007, on August 10.
