Dryden Township is a civil township of Lapeer County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,624 at the 2000 census. The village of Dryden is located within the township.
When it was first organized, the township was called Lomond Township but was given its present name by 1846.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.2 square miles (94 km2), of which 35.9 square miles (93 km2) is land and 0.3 square miles (0.78 km2) (0.91%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 4,624 people, 1,586 households, and 1,322 families residing in the township. The population density was 128.9 per square mile (49.8/km²). There were 1,673 housing units at an average density of 46.6 per square mile (18.0/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.84% White, 0.11% African American, 0.39% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.48% from other races, and 0.97% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.06% of the population.
There were 1,586 households out of which 39.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.5% were married couples living together, 4.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.6% were non-families. 13.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.90 and the average family size was 3.19.
