Double Terminated Crystal

A double terminated crystal is a crystal with two naturally faceted ends. Technically, they have a termination on both ends. It is a rarer form of crystal as it forms free-floating in pockets of clay, rather than on one side of a stone. They are sought after by collectors and are often made into pendants.

According to Gems & Gemology, "the topmost grade of amethyst consists of double-terminated single crystals."
