Don't Hang Up is a 2016 American horror-thriller film written by Joe Johnson and directed by Alexis Wajsbrot and Damien Mace. The film stars Gregg Sulkin,Garrett Clayton,Sienna Guillory, and Bella Dayne. The film had its world premiere on 4 June 2016 at the Los Angeles Film Festival and was released in theaters in the United States on February 10, 2017.

The movie begins with a young mother receiving a phone call from the police telling her that an intruder is in her home. She panics and hides. After a while, it is shown that it was all a prank done by some teenagers who have recorded this. Two of the teenagers, Sam Fuller and Brady Mannion, are best friends who regularly prank call random people.

After prank calling a random stranger, that same stranger calls them back several times after being hung up on multiple times. When the two boys tell the man to just let it go, the man says Brady's name. At first, Brady plays it off, but the same stranger repeats his name, his full name as well as Sam's full name. Not only does the stranger know their names, but he knows where they live, which startles them both. Then, there is a knock on the door. The boys arm and brace themselves, but it is only Peyton Grey, Sam's girlfriend who works as a pizza delivery girl. At first, she believes she is being pranked by them, however, Sam assures her they aren't. The boys started thinking about what happened, thinking their friend, Jeff Mosley, is responsible because he had stormed off earlier however a message arrives from the stranger assuring them that his friend is not responsible. Startled, they try to calm down. That moment is short-lived as a few more messages arrive, this time being a series of blurry photos showing what looks like two people restrained on chairs. Then, Brady receives a photo message, clearly showing the two people who been restrained. It turns out to be his parents. He shows this to Sam and immediately receives a message saying "answer or they die". The phone rings and Sam puts it on speaker phone.

The stranger tells them not to hang up or they'll die. Sam hangs up the phone and Brady, hysterical, berates Sam. Sam calms him down and suggests calling 911, to which Brady agrees. They then try calling 911 through the house phone. When they do, Brady hysterically tells the operator that a psycho is in his house holding his parents hostage. Sam pushes him away and calmly tells the operator what is going on. However, the operator turns out to be the stranger. Sam tries using Brady's cellphone, but the result is the same.
