Dimitri B. Papadimitriou (born June 9, 1946) is Executive Vice President and Provost, and Jerome Levy Professor of Economics at Bard College since 1977 and President, Levy Economics Institute of Bard College since its inception in 1986. On November 2016 he was named Greece's Minister of Economy and Development in the government of Alexis Tsipras.

Dimitri B. Papadimitriou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. He received his BA from Columbia College, Columbia University, in 1969, and the PhD in economics from the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research in 1986.

Among his other appointments are his positions as Distinguished Scholar at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, (Shanghai, PRC) in 2002, Vice Chairman, Trade Deficit Review Commission, United States Congress, (1999-2001), Adjunct Professor on the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research (1975-1976), and Executive Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer, William Penn Life Insurance Company of New York, (1969-1977).

Papadimitriou has been the Executive Vice President and Provost, and Jerome Levy Professor of Economics, at Bard College since 1977. He is also the Executive VP of Bard College at Simon's Rock (1979 - ), and President of the Levy Economics Institute of Bard College since 1986. In addition, he was Managing Director of BARD Real Estate GmbH (2011-2015), and Managing Director of Bard College Berlin gGmbH (2011-2015).

Papadimitriou is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Symphony Orchestra , and a Member of the Editorial Boards of the Bulletin of Political Economy (2006–),Challenge (2004-) and Journal of Economic Analysis (2010–). He has also been on the Editorial Boards of the Review of Income and Wealth (1998-2004), and the Eastern Economic Journal, (1994-1997).
