The Dhaka Literary Festival (also known as Dhaka Lit Fest) is an international literary festival held in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka. Its sessions spread over three days are primarily in English and Bengali with speakers and contributors from all around the world.

Nobel laureate VS Naipaul was its main speaker in 2016.

The festival is held every November in the historic grounds of the Bangla Academy in the Ramna district of Dhaka.

Dhaka Literary Festival (DLF or Dhaka Lit Fest), held at the historic premises of the Bangla Academy every year since 2012, marks a resurgence of Bangladeshi literary culture while vigorously engaging other cultures far beyond. DLF began its journey with a pilot event in 2011 under the aegis of the world famous Hay-on-Wye festival.

From its inception, the key organisers of the festival – Sadaf Saaz, Tahmima Anam, Ahsan Akbar and K Anis Ahmed – shared a common vision to connect Bangladeshi writing and writers to the wider world. With three rapid iterations – 2012, 2013 and 2014 – the festival established Dhaka’s place in the global literary circuit.

On its fifth anniversary in 2015, its current three directors Sadaf Saaz, Ahsan Akbar and K Anis Ahmed re-branded the festival as Dhaka Lit Fest to mark its commitment to promoting Dhaka and Bangladeshi culture to the world.
