Dez White is an American entrepreneur and philanthropist, who founded the company GoInvis, which develops smartphone apps designed to offer high levels of privacy and ephemerality. A former journalist, she also founded MouthtoEars.com, a gossip and fashion website.
Dez White is a native to Southern California, and attended Howard University in Washington D.C., where she majored in political science. She is a mother of two, and developed an interest in technology through an acquaintance who was an application developer.
White is a self-taught app developer, and is one of the youngest African-American tech entrepreneurs to successfully launch a suite of applications.
White was a former entertainment journalist for the celebrity gossip website MouthtoEars.com, which she founded. She developed an application to send anonymous messages that disappear after they are read, similar to Snapchat. This application was released formally as Invisible Text in August 2013 to the iTunes app store. It was re-launched in May 2014, and is still available in the App Store.
She was seeking funding to launch a fingerprint payment application called Blind Debit in 2015 and was once partnered with Jay-Z's former business partner Damon Dash.
White's company GlamRoks has developed and released two emoji apps associated with celebrities. One is called Chymoji, which was released in May 2016, curated by Blac Chyna. The other, released in July 2016 is called Odellmoji, curated by Odell Beckham Jr.
She started development of "State Safe Stop" under her company Media Opp to help save lives lost due to police brutality. The app that is scheduled for launch in the Fall of 2016.
White is the founder of GirlCode LA, a nonprofit organization that focuses on introducing women to the technology industry through various events such as summer camps and yearly seminars. The first networking event occurred in September 2014.
