The Devils Backbone Brewing Company is a brewpub located in Roseland, Virginia, close to the Wintergreen Resort. It was established in 2008 by Steven Crandall. In 2012, a 15,000 square foot production facility and tap room, referred to as "The Outpost", was established near Lexington, Virginia.
In April 2016, it was announced that Anheuser-Busch InBev will be acquiring Devils Backbone pending approval by the Department of Justice.
The brewery has won several awards at both the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup.
2010 also saw Devils Backbone named the World Beer Cup Brewers Association World Beer Cup 2010 Champion Brewery and Brewmaster - Small Brewpub.
Devils Backbone brewed the 2010 World Beer Cup medal-winning Kollaborator Bock. Along with Starr Hill Brewery, Blue Mountain Brewery, Wild Wolf Brewing Company, and South Street Brewery, Devils Backbone forms the Brew Ridge Trail.
