As of the census of 2000, there were 269 people, 96 households, and 69 families residing in the city. The population density was 174.0 people per square mile (67.0/km²). There were 112 housing units at an average density of 72.5 per square mile (27.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 73.98% White, 18.59% African American, 6.69% from other races, and 0.74% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.69% of the population.
There were 96 households out of which 29.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.2% were married couples living together, 13.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.1% were non-families. 27.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.80 and the average family size was 3.38.
