The Danish national basketball team is the basketball side that represents Denmark in international competition. It is governed by the Danmarks Basketball-Forbund (DBBF).

Once a team that competed among Europe's elite, Denmark is nowadays a minor team that aims to become a weighty competitor again.

The Roster for the EuroBasket 2017 qualification

Other notable players from Denmark:

Denmark debuted in the European championships at EuroBasket 1951 in Paris. They were defeated in all four of their preliminary round games, going 0–4 to take 5th place in the group. In a direct elimination match against Luxembourg, the Danes took a 46–45 lead with 5 seconds left. A final half-court shot by Luxembourg bounced off the rim, giving Denmark its first win and advancing the team to the first classification round. They picked up another win there, against Scotland, finishing third place in the group at 1–2. Their third win of the tournament came against Portugal in the 13–16 classification semifinal before Denmark lost to Switzerland in the 13/14 match to finish 14th of 18 teams with a record of 3–7.

Two years later, at the EuroBasket 1953 in Moscow, the Denmark squad did not fare as well. They dropped 8 decisions (3 in the preliminary round, 3 in the first classification round, and the two-second-round classification games) on their way to a 16th-place finish out of the 17 teams. At the EuroBasket 1955 in Budapest, Denmark lost all 8 of their games, this time finishing last of the 18 teams competing.

The EuroBasket 1955 was the last major tournament that Team Denmark qualified for. It did achieve success at the FIBA EuroBasket 2010 Division C, where Denmark won all games.
