The 2016–17 Denmark Series will be divided in four pools of ten teams. The winner of each pool will get promoted to next season Danish 2nd Division, while number 10 will be relegated, to a lower division. The bottom two teams of each pool will be in danger of playing relegation-playoff (depends on Danish 2nd Division Results).
