Delaware Township is a civil township of Sanilac County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 930 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 46.6 square miles (121 km2), of which 46.6 square miles (121 km2) is land and 0.02% is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 930 people, 359 households, and 258 families residing in the township. The population density was 20.0 per square mile (7.7/km²). There were 643 housing units at an average density of 13.8 per square mile (5.3/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.42% White, 0.22% Native American, 0.11% Asian, 0.32% from other races, and 1.94% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.47% of the population.
There were 359 households out of which 29.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.1% were married couples living together, 5.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.9% were non-families. 26.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 3.09.
In the township the population was spread out with 26.6% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 23.9% from 25 to 44, 25.1% from 45 to 64, and 18.5% who were 65 years of age or older.
