Delaware Township is a township in Juniata County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,464 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 29.9 square miles (77 km²), of which, 29.4 square miles (76 km²) of it is land and 0.5 square miles (1.3 km²) of it (1.80%) is water.

Delaware Township is bordered by Fayette Township to the north, Monroe and Greenwood Townships to the east, Perry County to the east and south, and Walker Township to the west. The borough of Thompsontown is surrounded by Delaware Township.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,464 people, 556 households, and 434 families residing in the township. The population density was 49.8 people per square mile (19.2/km²). There were 642 housing units at an average density of 21.8/sq mi (8.4/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 99.39% White, 0.14% Native American, 0.07% Asian, and 0.41% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.27% of the population.

There were 556 households, out of which 31.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.4% were married couples living together, 4.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.9% were non-families. 18.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 2.94.
