Del Rio is located at 35°55′11″N 83°01′33″W / 35.91972°N 83.02583°W (35.9197, -83.0258).[1] The community is situated around the confluence of the French Broad River and Big Creek, the latter of which has its source high in the mountains to the south. In recent years, the town's central area has shifted to the junction of U.S. Route 70 and State Route 107, along the north side of the French Broad.
