Before AVM remade this film in Hindi as Bindiya with Balraj Sahni, Sivaji advised them not to remake the film as he felt it lacked a strong storyline. However AVM ignored and went on to make the film in Hindi. Bindiya was a failure and many years later, Saravanan in an interview regretted ignoring Sivaji's advice.
