Joseph Montana, professionally known as DeeJay Element, is an American record producer, disc jockey and a member of the Brown Bag AllStars; who can sometimes feature vocals on songs. Described by HuffPost as a "rare breed of DJ", Element beat 24 regional DJs from the United States to win the third edition of the Complex/McDonald's DJ Battle in 2013.

He developed interest in DJing while growing up and started performing at local clubs until he moved to Brooklyn in 2004, where he got employed at Fat Beats and met J57 who taught him the rudiments of music production. In 2011, he produced 5 out of 6 songs from Soul Khan's first EP Acknowledgement and went on to produce and feature scratches on the first installment of the Brown Bag AllStars' Brown Bag Season series. In 2013, he released his debut project Reality Kings & Reason, an EP Steve Juon of Rap Reviews described as a "perfectly delivered 5 track slice" of his skills and ability. He has since released two solo albums and has worked with Ras Kass, Homeboy Sandman among others.
