Dean Charles Talafous (born August 25, 1953 in Duluth, Minnesota) is a retired ice hockey player. He played 497 NHL regular season games in 1974–82 for the New York Rangers, Minnesota North Stars and the Atlanta Flames as a right winger.

Talafous played for the Wisconsin Badgers where he helped the team win a National Championship in 1973, where he was named the MVP.

Drafted 53rd overall by the Atlanta Flames in the 1973 NHL Entry Draft after helping the Wisconsin Badgers win the NCAA title. He played 18 games for the Flames before being traded to the Minnesota North Stars. In international hockey he played for the United States in the 1976 Canada Cup and 1981 Canada Cup. In 1978 Talafous signed on as a free agent with the New York Rangers. He retired from playing in 1982 after only playing 29 games for New York that season.
