David Mazouz (/dəˈviːd məˈzuːz/; born February 19, 2001) is an American actor. An early role of his was that of the young autistic Jacob "Jake" Bohm in the TV series Touch. He currently portrays a young Bruce Wayne in Fox's TV series Gotham, based on the DC Comics alter ego of the superhero Batman.
David Mazouz was born in Los Angeles, California, to Rachel, a psychotherapist, and Michael Mazouz, a physician. He has a sister, Rebecca. Mazouz and his family are Sabbath-observing, Kosher-keeping, observant Jews, of Sephardi descent. He has been a student at Shalhevet High School since 2015 and appeared in a music video promoting the school.
Mazouz started his career in commercials with Kiefer Sutherland at age eight. In 2012, He again co- starred with Sutherland when he landed the role of mute Jacob "Jake" Bohm in the TV series Touch. Mazouz has acted in several television series including: Mike & Molly, Gotham, The Office, and Criminal Minds. He has also appeared in the ABC show Private Practice as the adopted brother of Betsy.
