David M. Solomon (born c. 1962) is an American businessman. He serves as the president and co-chief operating officer of Goldman Sachs.
David M. Solomon was born circa 1962. He graduated from Hamilton College, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science.
Solomon worked for Irving Trust, Drexel Burnham and Bear Stearns. In 1999, he became a partner at Goldman Sachs. He was the co-head of investment banking from 2006 to 2016. He was appointed as president and co-chief operating officer in December 2016 when Gary Cohn resigned from Goldman to become the Chief Economic Advisor to Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States. He serves on its management committee.
Solomon serves on the board of trustees of his alma mater, Hamilton College. He also serves on the board of directors of the Robin Hood Foundation.
With his wife Mary, he resided in the The San Remo on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City from 2002 onwards. They listed the apartment for $24 million in May 2016. As a hobby he performs monthly gigs as a D.J. under the stagename D.J. D-Sol in New York, Miami, and the Bahamas.
