David Krae


David Krae is a film director, actor, producer and author. After years working on both sides of the camera, in 2006 he directed his first independent feature film The House, which was featured as an Official Selection of the Canadian Filmmakers' Festival. In 2007 he won the Golden Palm Award for Best Script in the screenwriting competition at the Beverly Hills Film Festival for his feature screenplay Lucretia about Lucretia Borgia.

A supporter of independent filmmaking, he supervised production of the Genie Award-nominated feature film This Beautiful City by director Ed Gass-Donnelly and in 2009, he produced and the independent action-comedy feature film Gangster Exchange by director Dean Bajramovic, which won six Best Feature awards at festivals across North America.

As a performer, Krae has appeared in various television shows and film projects; he is a member of the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) and the Canadian Media Producers Association (formerly CFTPA ); and as a writer and filmmaker, he is based in both Toronto and Los Angeles.

In 2012, he published a novel version of Lucretia, the story of Lucretia Borgia, as well as the Elizabethan style stage play upon which it was originally based.
