Dattatray "Datta" Padsalgikar (born 26 August 1958) is a senior Indian IPS officer who was, on 30 January 2016, named as the new Police Commissioner of Mumbai. He has succeeded Ahmed Javed who released his charge as the Police Commissioner of Mumbai.An Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1982 cadre, Padsalgikar was on deputation to the central government in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) for the past few years, but was repatriated earlier in preparation for his new charge.[1]
