Dark & Wild is the first studio album by South Korean boy group BTS. This album was released on August 19, 2014. It contains 14 tracks, with "Danger" as its title track. The band later promoted "War of Hormone", another track from the album. Dark & Wild was the fourteenth bestselling album in South Korea in 2014.
On August 5, 2014, Big Hit Entertainment released a video titled, "방탄소년단 'DARK & WILD' Comeback Trailer" on YouTube, which featured animations of contrasting scenes of a forest paradise and black and white abandoned structures, accompanied by Rap Monster's rap. On August 7, 2014, the company released the first teaser photos for BTS's new studio album. The company later released the album's track list on the group's official Facebook and Twitter pages. It confirmed that there were to be 14 tracks, with "Danger" circled in red, indicating that it was the title song. The group held a comeback showcase on the 19th, performing "Let Me Know", "Danger", and "War of Hormone".
On August 19, the music video for "Danger" was released simultaneously with the accompanying album. It featured the group dressed in black, dancing sharp choreography in a subway tunnel as well as a warehouse with shopping carts on fire. The music video for "War of Hormone" was published on YouTube on October 21, ahead of BTS's follow-up promotions. The music video showed the boys dressed in retro outfits, acting uncontrollable at the sight of the female lead. It also features the members dancing on an outdoor set.
Dark & Wild debuted at number 2 on Weekly Gaon Album Chart for the third week of August 2014. It took the third spot on the Monthly Gaon Album Chart for the month of August. The album also ranked number 3 on Billboard's World Albums Chart and 27 on US Top Heatseekers chart.
