Darbuka Siva (born 13 March 1982) is an Indian actor, musician, music producer and a radio jockey based in Chennai, India. Starting out as a drummer/percussionist for some of the most sought after bands in the country, he then went on to spearhead the critically acclaimed Indian music projects like Yodhakaa and La Pongal.

In 2006, he joined Radio Mirchi as a radio jockey and a producer that made him one of the most hilarious RJs on-air in Chennai. In 2013, he was picked as a fellow for OneBeat – an initiative of the U.S. State Department for music-based social entrepreneurship powered by Found Sound Nation, where innovative musicians from around the world launch collaborative projects designed to make a positive impact on local and global communities.

In 2015, he debuted as an actor in the heist action-thriller Indian movie Rajathandhiram, which released on 13 March 2015 with rave reviews from the press and the online forums.

In February 2016, Siva was picked as a Facilitator/Artist-in-residence for The Dosti Music Project, which is a month-long residency and tour in the U.S.

August 2016 saw Siva debuting as a music director for Kidaari produced and acted by M. Sasikumar. Kidaari as an album was a mix of rooted Tamil folk music with contemporary sounds and textures that Siva picked up during his journey as an independent musician.

Siva's recent project is Darbuka Siva bro'ject, a collection of various artistic expressions conveyed through images and sounds. Being an ardent football fan, Siva made a music video titled 'Gala Gala' capturing the sounds and sights of the local football scene that reflects the mood and the energy of North Madras and it's love for football.

Growing up in the suburbs of what was then North Madras, Siva was very well aware of his music calling early on during his school days. Though, he was not able to do much about it because of the middle-class situation at home. But once he joined college he had the chance to get a bite of the local music circuit and the way it worked. He spent most of his time hanging around with much senior musicians at music venues and studios while bunking most of his classes in college.

As a starter, in 1999 he managed to buy a basic drum kit and began playing on his own. From there on, it was a classic case of one thing leading to another. Siva started his performing career in 2000 with 'Oikyotaan', an experimental Bengali Baul music band led by Bonnie Chakraborty who was also Siva's musical mentor. This experience pretty much shaped up Siva's musical approach and also had a major influence on many of his future projects. In 2002, during his final year in college Siva had to bunk all of his final year's exams to make himself available for an Oikyotaan tour. That marked the end of his academic duties.
