Daniel Sorensen (born March 5, 1990) is an American football free safety for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Brigham Young. He served a two-year Mormon mission in Costa Rica from 2009 to 2010.
Sorensen was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 12, 2014. After making the initial 53-man roster, he was waived on September 9, 2014 and was signed to the practice squad two days later. He was promoted to the active roster on November 1, 2014.
On September 25, 2016, Sorenson recorded his first career interception in Week 3 against the New York Jets. On October 23, 2016, he intercepted a pass from Drew Brees and returned it 48 yards for a touchdown for his first career NFL score.
On March 11, 2017, Sorenson signed a four-year, $16 million contract extension with the Chiefs.
