Daniel Hill (born 1956) is an English actor known for his extensive television, film and stage work. Hill trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School 1974-77 and his connection with the Bristol Old Vic Company started at age 13 when he was Young Marten in The Royal Hunt Of The Sun with Julian Glover. He was the avaricious Harvey Bains, manager of the retirement home in Waiting for God, alongside Stephanie Cole and Graham Crowden. He had earlier appeared with Martin Clunes and William Gaunt in the sitcom No Place Like Home.
He has also made appearances in several cult television programmes, most notably Stephen In the infamous "Only Fools and Horses" Christmas film "Jolly Boys Outing".He was Chasgo in Blake's 7, Johnny in The Dessert Song of Minder, and Chris Parsons in the now legendary Douglas Adams scripted but unbroadcast Doctor Who story Shada , [Royal Air Force]] pilot in the BBC drama Secret Army,'Tom Redburn in Tenko.
Hill has written several theatre plays including "Shaken Not Stirred", Northampton, 1996, which played at Hampstead theatre London as "Cracked" about a battleshock recovery unit in the first Gulf war; "Palace Balls " which Hill also starred in and directed at Jermyn Street theatre. Hill also wrote "Give Me The Monet" a franglais farce starring Claude Monet which Kenneth Branagh workshopped and read at the Vaudville theatre,London. Hill also wrote "Music From The Movies- Patrick Doyle" at The Royal Albert Hall". For Kenneth Branagh.
