Evdokia Kadi was chosen as the Cypriot representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. The song selection took place in the form of a national final organized by CyBC. "Femme Fatale" is a traditional Greek Laïkó song with a French title.

Composers were allowed to submit their songs until 15 November 2007. Following the deadline, a professional seven-member jury selected 10 songs to compete in the national final on 12 January 2008. The winner of the selection was decided through a mixture of a jury (40%) and a televote (60%). The jury consisted of those who selected the 10 competing songs with the addition of two guest jurors.

The National Final took place at RIK's Studio 3 on January 12, 2008. The show was broadcast live on regional and satellite television, as well as online streaming provided by CyBC and the official Eurovision website channel, ESCTV. The final started at 8:15 PM CET, and lasted approximately 2 hours. The host of the show was Andreas Ektoras, while Evridiki along with Dimitris Korgialas performed the song "I Zoi Ehei Hroma" as the interval act.

Evdokia Kadi won with the song "Femme Fatale", winning the televoting and coming third in the jury vote. Former Eurovision entrant Marlain Angelidou won the jury vote.

Cyprus took part in the second semi-final on 22 May 2008 and scored 36 points, of which the maximum 12 points were awarded by the United Kingdom, 8 by Bulgaria, 5 by Hungary, 4 by Turkey, 2 by each of Georgia, Albania and Switzerland, and 1 by Serbia, with the other fourteen voting countries all failing to award the song any points at all. This tally placed the Cypriot entry only 15th out of the 19 competitors in the semi-final, so it comfortably failed to qualify for the final. It did not have the regular European promotional tour as in previous years. Evdokia Kadi was invited as a guest to the Greek national selection where she promoted her entry.
