The splendid leaf frog (Cruziohyla calcarifer) is a tree frog of the family Hylidae native to the Caribbean slopes of southeastern Nicaragua and eastern Honduras southwards through Costa Rica and Panama to Pacific lowlands of Colombia and northwestern Ecuador. It might represent a composite of cryptic species. It is a nocturnal, arboreal frog inhabiting primary humid lowland forest. It comes down only to breed in tree holes and in small fishless pools.
