Cretoxyrhinidae is an extinct family of sharks. Members of this family include Cretoxyrhina, a genus from the Cretaceous, Palaeocarcharodon, and possibly Cretolamna, which was the possible ancestor of many famous shark families such as the lamnids and otodontids.
