Crankworx is the defining celebration of world-class mountain biking, operating in Rotorua, New Zealand, Les Gets, France, Innsbruck, Austria and its Canadian home base of Whistler, British Columbia.
The festival draws together the world's elite gravity mountain bike scene, offering a unique vantage on the sport. The event gives attendees the opportunity to watch high caliber talent compete, whilst also riding on the same trails. It is also a commercial event, promoting products and gear from the cycling industry.
Created in 2004, it celebrates its 14th season with the launch of a new fourth stop, Innsbruck Austria, taking the Crankworx World Tour to the next dimension. It is broadcast, live, on Crankworx.com and Pinkbike.com and the Slopestyle competitions are featured on Red Bull TV. It is also featured on a number of broadcast television networks, worldwide, both as a live feed and as a feature show created and shown after each event.
A central aspect of Crankworx is the village-wide expo and demo area, with the latest products, gear and mountain bikes on offer for riders, and prospective riders, to try. There is also a complimentary Kidsworx festival, offering a series of competitions for youngsters, which is already half the size of the parent festival, after only four years in operation.
