Covão Grande' is a settlement in the central part of the island of Santiago, Cape Verde and is situated west of Ribeira de Faveta, nearly a kilometer from the tributary with Ribeira de Picos. Its 2010 population was 478. It is situated 5 km north of Picos and is connected by a road running near Ribeira da Faveta and connects with Picos and Achada Leitão and another through Manipulo (Faveta), both connects with the Praia - Assomada - Tarrafal Route (EN1-ST01).

The settlement is named after a hollow feature located to the southeast and some other parts (Portuguese: Covão Grande meaning "great hollow"). A part of it has been flooded by its reservoir.

Ribeira da Faveta flows in the east and flows north then nearly east as it turns around 100 degrees. In 2011, construction of a new dam was constructed and was completed on July 19, 2013 and a part of the feature was flooded and became Faveta Reservoir, much of the reservoir are included in the area.

Between August 31 and September 1, Hurricane Fred came to the island and the most area flooded was the area and the Faveta Reservoir were filled with water to maximum capacity, it prompted residents from adjacent areas to evacuate especially to the northeast including parts of Leitão Grande and Leitãozinho.
