Cormoran Strike is a 2017 BBC television series based on the detective novels written by J. K. Rowling.

On December 10, 2014, it was announced that the Cormoran Strike novel series, written by J. K. Rowling under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith would be adapted for television by the BBC, for broadcast on BBC One, beginning with The Cuckoo's Calling. Rowling will collaborate on the project, and it is believed she will contribute to the scripts. Two years later, it was confirmed that the series will total seven episodes of sixty minutes, with shooting to begin in London in the autumn of 2016. Additional scenes were filmed at Barrow in Furness in Cumbria and a petrol station in Leyburn, North Yorkshire.

Ben Richards will adapt The Cuckoo's Calling and Tom Edge will adapt both The Silkworm and Career of Evil.

In late 2016, it was announced that Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger would lead the cast as Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott, respectively. In early 2017 it was announced that Logan Kerr would play Robin's fiancé Matthew.

Cormoran Strike, a war veteran turned private detective, operates out of a small office in London's Denmark Street. Though wounded both psychologically and physically, Strike's experience as an Special Investigation Branch investigator prove critical in solving cases which have eluded the police.

The series was picked up by HBO for distribution in the United States and Canada.
