It was released on November 4, 2016, by Republic Records as the first promotional single from his debut studio album, Stoney. It was then released on January 31, 2017, as the fifth single from Stoney. The track features vocals from Quavo, and was produced by Metro Boomin, Frank Dukes and Louis Bell. The track peaked at number 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming his highest peaking single on the chart, surpassing the number 14 peak of his debut hit, "White Iverson". The song was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Post Malone debuted the track while performing in Austin, Texas in September 2016, two months before the song's official release.

On May 9, 2017, the track was performed to Post Malone by a mariachi band and Indonesian rapper Rich Chigga.
