According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 16.0 square miles (41 km2), of which 15.9 square miles (41 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) (0.56%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 997 people, 297 households, and 231 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 62.8 people per square mile (24.2/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 16.25% White, 7.22% African American, 76.03% Native American, 0.30% from other races, and 0.20% from two or more races.
