Clairefontaine paper mills

Clairefontaine is a French company founded in 1858 in the city of Étival-Clairefontaine. The company is a part of the group Exacompta Clairefontaine. Clairefontaine produces notebooks, paper, and stationery using acid-free paper. The company actively participates in the development of French forests, by managing several hundred hectares of fir and spruce trees in the Vosges mountain range. The paper mill itself is still as dynamic 150 years after its conception.

The original Clairefontaine paper mill was founded in 1858.

In the year 1997, Clairefontaine acquired notepad brand Rhodia to create the group Clairefontaine-Rhodia.

Clairefontaine manufactures their own paper for their products. Today, Clairefontaine offers the largest paper range in the market, from the school environment to office spaces. As well as printing papers, the company has expanded to offer fine arts, correspondence and handicraft products. Clairefontaine has invested in modern, sustainable production units which are for the ISO 14001 certification standard.

Since 2010, Clairefontaine also modernised their French logistics facility, in particular its warehouse in Alsace (30,000m2) which is able to deliver 8,500 items worldwide and has a 30,000 pallet capacity.
