City of Cardiff Council election, 2017

Elections to City of Cardiff Council were held on 4 May 2017 as part of wider local elections across Wales. The elections were preceded by the 2012 elections. Labour maintained control of the authority following these elections.

The results were as follows.

Labour won all four seats. Ali Ahmed previously represented Butetown.

The Liberal Democrats lost a seat they had gained in a by-election.

Two of the three Independent councilors elected in 2012 joined the Conservatives in the intervening period and the third Independent was defeated by a Conservative.

Ralph Cook was elected as a Labour candidate in 2012.
