Cimarron Hills is located at 38°51′19″N 104°42′13″W / 38.85528°N 104.70361°W / 38.85528; -104.70361 (38.855194, -104.703502).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.1 square miles (16 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 15,194 people, 5,382 households, and 4,031 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2,491.9 people per square mile (961.7/km²).
