Charles Henry Smith, III (born December 21, 1969) is a former American football player and coach. He played college football at the University of Tennessee and professionally in the National Football League (NFL) with the Atlanta Falcons from 1992 to 1999 and the Carolina Panthers in 2000. Smith spent the 2010 season as an assistant coach as his Alma mater, Tennessee. He also has worked as a radio host in Atlanta.

In the 2016 Emmy nominated TV Analyst Chuck Smith is one of the most recognizable Georgian's in sports history. In 2017, he was chosen by the Atlanta Falcons as a Legend of the Dome. In 2014 Chuck received three of the highest honors a Georgia Citizen can achieve:

Atlanta NCAA Humanitarian Award, Public Service Award by the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, honored as a Georgia Legend.

His willingness to do his best earned him a scholarship at the University of Tennessee,where in 2004 he was honored as a Vol Legend. At Tennessee, His team won 1990 Southeastern Conference Championship before beating Virginia in the Sugar Bowl. Chuck went on his Senior Season being named a unanimous All-SEC choice leading the conference in sacks, playing in the Fiesta Bowl and being named MVP of the 1991 Senior Bowl All Star Football game. His stellar play helped In making a childhood dream come true.

Being selected in the 2nd Round of the 1992 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons.For eight seasons in Atlanta, from 1992 to 1999, Smith established himself as an All-Pro defensive end. His favorite team as a kid. A 5X Pro Bowl Alternate, 3X NFL Defensive Player of the Week, he's has been presented 35 game balls by Teammates & Coaches in his Atlanta Falcon career. Named All Pro in 1997. He was quoted on draft day 1992, Atlanta Journal-Constitution "My goal as a Atlanta Falcons is to help get the Falcons to the Superbowl and be a leader in the Atlanta Community and throughout the State of Georgia".
