Chris Brooks is a British radio presenter and DJ from Eastbourne, East Sussex, England, Currently presenting for Radio Essex as a presenter on their Drivetime show weekdays 3-7.
Brooks was Born in Eastbourne and lived there until he was 7 years old. He then moved to Watford where he went to School at Langleybury. He then returned to Eastbourne in 1989.
Brooks started his Radio career on Eastbourne Hospital Radio in 1989.
At the University of Hertfordshire, Brooks, and fellow presenters applied for and won an RSL licence for the campus radio station to be broadcast on FM. He was part of the team that created Crush Radio which is still broadcasting today.
Brooks started his professional career at Chiltern Radio in Milton Keynes in 1993, presenting a networked show across the group's stations.
This was followed by Broadcasting roles on Metro Radio, Galaxy Radio and Kix 96.
It was whilst at Essex FM in 2000 that Brooks met his good friend Scott Robinson from band 5ive and the two of them presented the Hot 30 Countdown show together. This ended when Brooks was signed by Ric Blaxill for Capital FM in 2002, to present their weekend breakfast show and to be the new main weekday cover presenter. Chris and Scott remain good friends and have been seen at various events together since and at one stage were working on TV shows together.
