Full name Chingford Town Football Club

Chingford Town is the name of a football club that has had the following incarnations:

The club formed in the late 1940s as Chingford Town, playing in the Southern Football League and the reserve team playing in the Metropolitan & District League. The club played for three seasons in the Southern Football League before resigning in 1950/51 after playing 21 matches in the league and having their record expunged.

In 1952 they reformed as Parkhill FC, joining Division 1 of the London League in 1952, playing three seasons before finishing second place to Wapping Sports and gaining promotion to the Premier Division.

In 1955 they changed their name back to Chingford whilst still playing in the London League Premier Division, finishing second in 1961/62 and eventually becoming champions in 1962/63. 1964 saw the club join the Greater London League as part of a league merger where they played until 1970/71 before moving into Division One of the Metropolitan–London League after another league restructure.

The Metropolitan–London League was a short lived league and after three seasons another merger, this time with the Spartan League, saw the club play 12 seasons in that league gaining promotion in 1977/78 but suffering relegation in 1983-84.

Chingford FC left the London Spartan League in 1987 and the early 1990s saw a rebirth of various other incarnations of the Chingford club. Finally renamed as Chingford Town FC, the club competed in the London Spartan League, Spartan South Midlands League and London Intermediate League, continuing until 2001-02.
