Chillicothe High School (Ohio)

Chillicothe High School is a public high school in Chillicothe, Ohio and Chillicothe City School District's only high school. The current high school on Yoctangee Parkway replaced the one built during the 1930s on Arch Street in 1967.

The Chillicothe Cavaliers are part of the Frontier Athletic Conference , which began play at the start of the 2017-2018 school year. The league consists of five members from the South Central Ohio League (SCOL) and former Southeastern Ohio Athletic League (SEOAL) member Jackson.

Fall Sports: Football, Volleyball, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Golf, Boys Cross Country, Girls Cross Country, Girls Tennis, Cheerleading, and Marching band.

Winter Sports: Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Wrestling, Boys Swimming, Girls Swimming, Boys Bowling, and Girls Bowling. Swimming

Spring Sports: Baseball, Softball, Boys Track, Girls Track, and Boys Tennis.

Chillicothe's marching band, the Marching Cavaliers, is an award winning marching band that plays at football games and at many of the school's pep rallies. The school also maintains a Drumline and a Color Guard.

The Cavalier Orchestra is a full orchestra that includes wind instruments as well as percussion. The Orchestra competes in OMEA large group contest every year, receiving and Excellent rating in 2016. For the 2017-2018 school year will mark the beginning of the orchestra being under the Direction of Mr. Thomas Watts and Assistant Director Ashley Emmons.

There are three main choirs at Chillicothe High School. The largest choir is the Concert Choir, which is open to all. There also two select choirs which one must audition for to be accepted. The Cavalites Show Choir is one of these Select Choirs. The Cavalites perform with song and dance, and perform more modern music as well as upbeat dancing tunes from the 20th Century. The other select choir is the Chillicothe High School Symphonic Choir. This choir performs classical music in four to eight parts, as well as going to large group contest every year, receiving a Superior rating at District Contest in 2015 and an Excellent rating at State Contest of the same year.
