Chewsville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Washington County, Maryland, United States. The population was 293 at the 2000 census.

Chewsville is located at 39°38′35″N 77°38′6″W / 39.64306°N 77.63500°W / 39.64306; -77.63500 (39.643149, -77.635032).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.1 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 293 people, 117 households, and 74 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 351.9 people per square mile (136.3/km²). There were 125 housing units at an average density of 150.1/sq mi (58.1/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.98% White, 0.34% Asian, and 0.68% from two or more races.

There were 117 households out of which 29.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.3% were married couples living together, 7.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.9% were non-families. 29.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 3.15.

In the CDP, the population was spread out with 29.0% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 30.0% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 11.9% who were 65 years of age or older.
