Chas Remue

Charles Achille "Chas" Remue (October 15, 1903, Brussels - February 5, 1971, Brussels) was a Belgian jazz reedist.

Remue received formal training in music, but concentrated on jazz from the early 1920s, including with the groups Red Mill's Jazz, the Bing Boys, Billy Smith's White Diamonds, and the Royal Dance Orchestra. He led his own ensemble, the New Stompers Orchestra, from 1927, whose 1927 recording session produced "the first jazz recordings made by a group consisting entirely of Belgian musicians". His sidemen included Fud Candrix and Jean Robert. He was a member of the Savoy Orpheans in late 1927 and led a new, larger ensemble which also made recordings in 1929. Later in his career he played with Bernard Etté and Stan Brenders.
