Charlotte Cortlandt Ellis (27 June 1874 – 17 March 1956) was an American botanist and plant collector active in New Mexico. She discovered several plant species and collected numerous plant specimens.

She discovered and collected a number of plant specimens used to create the formal scientific description and scientific name of that particular type of plant. The holotype specimens she discovered and collected include Primula ellisiae,Dodecatheon ellisiae and Astragalus praelongus var. ellisiae. These plants are named in her honour. She also collected the holotypes of Achillea laxiflora and Tium stenolobum. She collected plants for, and assisted the work of, several notable botanists including Paul C. Standley and Joseph Nelson Rose. Many specimens she collected were placed in the United States National Herbarium, The New York Botanical Gardens and the Missouri Botanical Gardens.
