Championship Bull Riding

Championship Bull Riding, Inc. (CBR) is a professional bull riding organization based in Fort Worth, Texas, United States.

Stock contractor Terry Williams and Texas businessman Joel Logan founded Championship Bull Riding (CBR) in 2002. ProRodeo Hall of Fame cowboy and 4-time world champion bull rider Tuff Hedeman is an integral part of the live event production and an ambassador for the organization after serving as president from 2005-2010.

In 2017, the CBR Road to Cheyenne Tour and its subsidiary Horizon Series will visit over 70 venues across the United States.

CBR has been broadcast on television since 2004. From 2004-07, it was broadcast on the Outdoor Channel, in 2008 on RFD-TV, from 2009-11 on Great American Country and since 2012 has been broadcast on Fox Sports Networks.

The CBR finals event has been held in different locations of the United States throughout the years. From 2002-05, the CBR finals were held in Jackson, Mississippi, from 2006-08 in Las Vegas, Nevada, from 2009-10 in Kansas City, Missouri, in 2011 in Loveland, Colorado and since 2012 in Cheyenne, Wyoming at Cheyenne Frontier Days, held in conjunction with the annual PRCA rodeo there.

CBR's televised Road to Cheyenne Tour is conducted in the proprietary "8 Second Challenge" format. 24 riders compete in the first round, and those who make a successful 8 second ride get paid $500. The top 12 riders based on scores return to the second round, and those who make a successful 8 second ride get paid $750. The top 4 riders in the second round move on to the third and final round and each rider, regardless if they make a successful 8 second ride or not, gets paid $1,000. If the event leader rides his bull in the championship round and ends up scoring the most points, he receives up to a $22,000 bonus. The final event of the regular season is the prestigious George Paul Memorial Bull Riding in Del Rio, Texas. When the regular season ends, the top 24 riders in the Road to Cheyenne Tour point standings qualify for the CBR world championship event. The rider who wins the most points throughout the Road to Cheyenne Tour season is crowned the CBR World Champion.
