Chakraborty (Chôkrôbôrti চক্রবর্তী) is a surname meaning ′Ruler of the country′ or ′Emperor′ of Bengali and Assamese Brahmin people in the Indian states of West Bengal, Assam and Tripura and in Bangladesh.
