Chã de Alecrim is a subdivision northwest of the historic center of the Mindelo in the island of São Vicente, Cape Verde as well as a volcanic plateau. It is divided into three parts, Alto Doce, Plateau (Platô, or Planalto) and Sobre Madeiralzinho. Its area is about 1.2 km by about 600 m. The lowest point is about 10 meters and the highest point is around 210 meters being Monte Canelinho to the north, that upper part not forming a part of the plateau but the subdivsion.

Bordering subdivisions include Ponta de João d'Évora to the east, Alto Cruz and Madeiralzinho to the southeast, Lajinha to the southwest and west and Ponta João Ribeiro to the west. The subdivision extends southwest to the roundabout intersecting Avenida Marginal and excludes the city's desalination plant.

The subdivision developed around the 1940s and the 1950s and grew larger even into the 21st century, the portion of the city continues to grow even into the present day.

Chã de Alecrim has its own church located in the southwest. In the Alto Doca section has a small football (soccer) field. A small portion of the northeast has a few trees.

Its sports club is CD Falcões do Norte which is the home subdivision of the club, the club trains at the field but plays its matches at Estádio Municipal Adérito Sena to the south. The club area not just covers the subdivision, but the northern part of the city including Laginha, Madeiralzino and Ponte João Ribeira.

At many parts, it is one part of the city that offers beautiful panoramics including city center, the area to the east, the middle of the island, the midwestern part of the island as well as Monte Cara, Ilhéu dos Passaros and the southwestern part of the island of Santo Antão. Some of these are seen in the west, but a small slope to the east blocks the view of the middle of the island in the eastern part. Panoramics are rarely seen as most of the area today are buildings.
